On expressing condolences

The Embassy has learned with profound sorrow and deep shock of the devastating tragedy that occurred on August 26, 2026, at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad, which tragically claimed the lives of newborn children. 

The loss of these infants, who had only just entered this world, is an irreplaceable, heartbreaking tragedy and a monumental grief. 

The Embassy extends its most heartfelt and deepest condolences to the parents, families, and loved ones of the deceased infants. In this hour of profound grief, we share the pain of the people of Pakistan.
