The Visit of the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus to Pakistan

On September 11-12, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Lukashevich visited the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to participate as Head of the Belarusian delegation in the 23rd Meeting of the Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization responsible for Foreign Economic and Foreign trade activities and to hold bilateral meetings.During the meeting on September 11, 2024 with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Tariq Fatemi, the current state of bilateral Belarusian-Pakistani political cooperation was discussed, as well as the upcoming events scheduled by the parties for 2024.Special attention is paid to the high-quality content and holding of the visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus to Pakistan, agreed for November 2024. The Sides noted the need for close cooperation between the parties in order to carry out high-quality events on the bilateral agenda, which will be held in Pakistan in September-December this year.Within the framework of the SCO Council of Ministers, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergey Lukashevich made a speech, during which he told about the prospects for Belarusian participation and indicated our country's readiness to contribute to the work of the Organization in all areas of cooperation – political, humanitarian, and economic. Representatives of the SCO member states warmly welcomed the Belarusian delegation to join the Shanghai Family and wished them further fruitful joint cooperation.During his stay in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, Sergey Lukashevich also held bilateral meetings with representatives of the Pakistani business community, during which the parties discussed further steps to deepen and intensify bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
