On the meeting with Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan

On January 4, 2019, the Belarusian Ambassador to Pakistan, Andrei Ermolovich, met with the Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan, Lieutenant General Omar Mahmood Hayat.

The Sides discussed the prospects for establishing interaction between the relevant authoroties of Belarus and Pakistan.

In particular, the Head of the Diplomatic Mission informed Lieutenant General Omar Mahmood Hayat regarding the issues of the legal framework development in the field of prevention and elimination of emergencies, training of Pakistani specialists at the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, supplies of rescue equipment of Belarusian production to Pakistan, sharing of experience in conducting search and rescue operations and modern rescue technologies, development of the youth movement of firefighters rescuers.

General Omar Mahmood Hayat expressed interest in establishing direct contacts with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus and express the readiness to visit Minsk in the near future for detailed acquaintance with the activities of the Belarusian rescue services.
