Useful visa information
Visa processing starts only after we have collected necessary documents, interviewed an applicant and received money for the required visa.
Normally it takes 5 working days to issue a visa; express (urgent) visas can be proceeded within 2 working days if no additional questions arise.
Please, note that we DO NOT ACCEPT visa documents delivered to the Consular Section by courier services.
Every applicant shall submit his/her documents and come for the interview PERSONALLY.
There are NO ONLINE APPLICATION services available.
The Consular Section NEVER informs the Applicant about the reasons for refusal. In the event of visa denial the consular fee is not reimbursed!
Please, note that the Embassy collects the visa fee as the only payment for the visa issuing!
The Embassy does not cooperate with any mediators or agents on the subject of granting any rights or privileges which go beyond these visa requirements or somehow contradict them!
WORKING HOURS of the Consular Section:
Submission of the documents: Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30.
Issuance of the documents: Monday – Friday, from 02:00 p.m. until 05.00 p.m.
READ BEFORE YOU APPLY
All the applicants are kindly advised to plan their visit to Belarus and submit complete application documents together with passport at least three weeks in advance in order to enable the consular section to carry out the required visa procedures without any delay.
The applicants are also requested to prove that they possess sufficient amount of money to cover all the costs of accommodation in Belarus, which is equivalent to minimum of 25 euros per day.
Document proving the possession of the above mentioned amount is a bank statement for at least past 6 months issued by a financial institution stamped and singed by an eligible bank staff member and issued not later than one-two weeks prior to the date of application at the Embassy.
TO OBTAIN A VISA THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE CONSULAR SECTION OF THE EMBASSY:
1. VALID PASSPORT or other FOREIGN TRAVEL DOCUMENT
Passport or a foreign travel document, submitted by the applicant, shall:
- contain a photograph of the owner (In case minors accompany the applicant and are needed to be included into his/her entry visa, respective passport or a foreign travel document should contain photographs of those persons);
- have at least two blank visa pages;
- be valid for at least 90 days upon conclusion of the applicant’s trip to Belarus.
Passport or a foreign travel document, submitted by the applicant, shall not:
- be dubious in terms of authenticity or ownership;
- contain marks, stamps, erasures and corrections that are not certified by the competent authorities of a respective foreign nation;
- contain torn pages.
2. VISA SUPPORT DOCUMENTS, DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF VISA (transit/short-term/long-term) AND THE PURPOSE OF THE VISIT
TYPE B /transit/
For a transit visa:
A visa for the country you are traveling from/to via Belarus (issued for transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus for the stated period, but not more than for 1 year, and is valid for 2 days starting from the date of entry of a foreign citizen into the Republic of Belarus).
In case of traveling to countries with no entry visa requirements – copy of the ticket, itinerary from your travel agency or any other document confirming your trip to the respective country. Transit visa is issued for single, double and multiple transit through the territory of Belarus in case an applicant has the visa of the country of his/her destination.
TYPE C /short term/ (valid up to 90 days with the right of single, double or multiple entry and stay in Belarus for up to 90 days).
For business purpose, participation in sport, scientific, educational or cultural event – an original letter of visa support (invitation) of a legal entity, issued on the letter-head with the full name of the entity, its location and telephone number and the obligation to assure that a foreign citizen will observe the rules of stay in Belarus.
For private purposes – one of the following documents:
- an original invitation, issued by the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus;
- an original official confirmation of serious illness or death of a close relative or spouse, a death certificate – for processing an entry visa to a foreign citizen, whose close relative or spouse became seriously ill or died in Belarus, as well as to close relatives and spouse of this foreign citizen;
- a subpoena;
- an original document, confirming the ownership of the real estate property in Belarus – for processing an entry visa to the owner of property and to his/her family members;
- original documents which prove close relationship / marriage with a Belarusian citizen (Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Certificate on change on name, etc.);
- original documents which prove that an applicant was born in Belarus or is a Belarusian national;
- an original letter of visa support of a Belarusian healthcare institution or contract for medical services with a Belarusian healthcare institution, prepared in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus – for processing a visa to a foreigner, who is in need of medical care, provided in Belarus, as well as to an accompanying person, if required;
- an original letter of visa support of a legal entity in Belarus – for processing a visa to a family member of a foreigner, who accompanies another foreigner to Belarus on a business trip, to particiate in sport, cultural, scientific, educational events, training courses, work;
- an original invitation of the Belarusian educational institution – for processing a visa to an applicant, who accompanies (as official representative) a foreigner to Belarus to particiate in enrollment;
- an original certificate of the local executive committee or information by the Belarus Red Cross (other agency of IFRC) confirming the fact of the burial in the Republic of Belarus and the maintenance of the graves of the close relatives of the applicant;
- a temporary resident permit — for a period up to 30 days but no longer than the expiry date of the mentioned temporary resident permit.
For tourism purpose – one of the following original documents for the period, specified in the document, but no more than 30 days:
- an original letter of visa support (invitation) of a Belarusian tourist company, issued on a letter-head with the full name of the tourist company, its location and telephone number and the obligation of the tourist company to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus;
- an original letter of visa support (invitation) of a sanatorium-and-spa resort or recreation center, issued on a letter-head with its full name, location and telephone number, purpose, period of stay of a foreign citizen, services rendered, confirmation of the voucher reservation and full or partial prepayment for the services, as well as the obligation of the sanatorium-and-spa resort or recreation center to assure that a foreign citizen will observe the rules of stay in Belarus;
- an original letter of visa support (invitation) of a Belarusian representative of farm tourism business with its name and address, purpose, period of stay of a foreign citizen, services rendered and the obligation of the representative to assure that a foreign citizen will observe the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus and certified by the Belarusian public notary copies of documents, confirming the right to provide its services in the sphere of farm tourism.
Education – an original invitation of the Belarusian educational institution, approved by the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for the period, specified in the invitation, or appropriate confirmation from the Citizenship and Migration Department, sent directly to the Embassy. Moreover, original transcripts (and one photocopy) of school-leaving certificate of general educational schools and college, university diploma etc., legalized in the Higher Education Commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
For religious reasons – an original letter of visa support of a religious association, issued on a letter-head with the full name of the religious association, its location and telephone number, and the obligation of the religious association to assure that a foreign citizen will observe the rules of stay in Belarus, approved by the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs of Belarus.
Implementation of humanitarian programmes, including foreign donations, rest and recreation of children and volunteer work – a letter of visa support by the Humanitarian Activities Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus or another authorized governmental institution of the Republic of Belarus, regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee.
For journalistic activity – confirmation of temporary accreditation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
For employment – one of the following documents:
- a copy of a special employment permit, issued by the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, certified by the Belarusian public notary;
- relevant confirmation from the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, delivered directly to the Embassy.
For permanent residence – confirmation of the decision of the Regional branch of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
TYPE D /long term/ (valid up to 1 year with the right of multiple entry and stay in Belarus for up to 90 days)
For business purpose – combination of the following documents:
- an original letter of visa support of a Belarusian legal entity or original documents of a Belarusian legal entity (including the founding documents) which prove that a foreigner is a founder of a Belarusian commercial organization or an employee of a foreign company, that has established the commercial organization in Belarus;
- a document, that proves the necessity of multiple visits to Belarus during the requested period of visa validity, i.e. a certified copy of a contract (cooperation agreement) between a Belarusian legal entity and the applicant or his/her foreign organization where he/she works, that confirms the existence of stable business connection, or original document (certified copy) of a Belarusian legal entity (including the founding documents), confirming that the foreigner is a founder of a Belarusian commercial organization or an employee of a foreign company, that has established the commercial organization in Belarus;
- by the decision of the consular officer – other documents, confirming the information, contained in the letter of visa support, and the existence of business contacts.
A long-term visa for a purpose of business can be issued on the basis of an original letter of visa support of a representative office of a foreign company in the Republic of Belarus to founders, managers and employees of the foreign company, which has established this office, in order to supervise the work of the representative office or to carry out activities, directly related to the work of the representative office.
For participation in sport or cultural events – combination of the following documents:
- an original letter of visa support of a Belarusian legal entity or a verbal note;
- a document, that proves the necessity of multiple visits to Belarus during the requested period of visa validity, i.e. a certified copy of a contract (cooperation agreement) between a Belarusian legal entity and foreign citizen or foreign organization where he/she works, that confirms the existence of stable business connection, or the schedule of sport events;
- by the decision of the consular officer – other documents, confirming the information, contained in the letter of visa support, and the existence of long-term contacts.
For private purposes – one of the following original documents:
- an original invitation, issued by the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus;
- an original official confirmation of serious illness or death of a close relative or spouse, a death certificate – for processing an entry visa to a foreign citizen, whose close relative or spouse became seriously ill or died in Belarus, as well as to close relatives and spouse of this foreign citizen;
- an original document, confirming the ownership of the real estate property in Belarus – for processing an entry visa to the owner of property and to his/her family members;
- original documents which prove close relationship / marriage with a Belarusian citizen (Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Certificate on change on name, etc.);
- original documents which prove that an applicant was born in Belarus or is a Belarusian national;

3. APPLICATION FORM
The visa application form can be filled in on computer and printed or completed by hand but it shall meet the following requirements:
- it shall be filled in completely, no blank spaces shall be left (If a question does not apply write “N/A”, if the answer is negative, write “no/none”);
- answers to the questions in the form shall be complete and logically consistent, they shall indicate the real purpose of the applicant’s visit to Belarus;
- it shall be signed by the applicant personally (The visa application form of an applicant minor of age is signed by his/her legal adult representative);
- it shall be filled in block letters; no corrections or overwriting on the form are allowed.

4. PHOTO
The photo shall meet certain requirements specified in the international standard ISO / IEC 19794-5:
- size — 35 mm wide x 45 mm high;
- full face, against an even white background (no photos with blue background will be accepted);
- high resolution, no corrugation or ink allowed;
- face fills 70 – 80 percent of the picture; photo depicts person without headgear, looking straight ahead with closed mouth;
- in case the applicant wears glasses they shall not be of dark colour on the photo;
- in case the applicant wears religious headgear, chin, forehead and both cheeks shall be sharply visible on the photo;
- photos of the applicant older than 6 months are not accepted.
The photo shall be attached (either glued or stapled) to the marked place in the visa application form. Do not staple the photo on the image of the applicant's face or hair.
5. MEDICAL INSURANCE
The applicant’s medical insurance shall meet the following requirements:
- contain the name of an insurance company and its location, phone numbers or international assistance services, as well as the surname, first name, patronym (if any) of the applicant;
- has effect on the territory of Belarus;
- be valid for the entire period of applicant’s temporary stay or temporary residence in Belarus;
- has the insured sum amounted to no less than 10,000 euros (please, bear in mind, that due to the currency rate medical insurances with the sum amounted to 10,000 US dollars are not accepted).
Important Note: the applicant’s medical insurance document shall be submitted in original with one copy attached. Upon completion of visa request processing the original medical insurance is returned to the applicant.
6. AIRLINE TICKETS (FLIGHT BOOKING CONFIRMATION)
The applicant is requested to submit ordered airline tickets to and back from Belarus or flight booking confirmation for the required period of visa validity or (in case of multiple entry visa) for the first visit to Belarus within the requested period of visa validity.
7. ACCOMODATION PROOF
The applicant is requested to submit accommodation proof) covering the entire period of his/her travel to Belarus, such as:
- original (or colourful copy) of confirmed hotel reservation on the hotel’s letter-head, stamped and signed; or
- verified copy of the rent agreement clearly stating the applicant's name, rental period dates and accommodation address as well as a verified copy of the registration of the lessor and a verified copy of the payment for the agreed rent.
8. PROOF OF FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY (bank statement, etc.)
A foreign visitor shall has at least 25 euros per day of stay in Belarus.
9. OTHER DOCUMENTS AT CONSUL'S REQUEST
At the request of the consular officer additional documents (such as police clearance, taxpayer statement, salary statement, medical certificate, etc.) may be required for issuance of a Belarusian entry visa.
TERMS OF PAYMENT
The applicants pay consular fees only after the consular officer has checked all the documents required for the visa processing and made a decision to accept them.
The consular officer issues a deposit slip for a fee payment in Habib Bank Limited and handle it to the applicant. The applicants are kindly advised to pay the consular fees by depositing money in Habib Bank Limited (Aabpara market branch) as soon as possible and return to the consular office of the Embassy confirmation of the payment. Upon receipt of fee payment confirmation the consul launches the visa processing procedure and inform the applicant on the time of collection of the documents.
Visa fee regardless of type and number of entries totals 60 euros (urgent visa fee – 120 euros).
