Political Relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were established on February 3, 1994.
In 2024 Belarus and Pakistan celebrate the 30th Anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Belarusian-Pakistani relations activated significantly after the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan with a residence in Islamabad in November 2014.
The President of the Republic of Belarus has paid three visits to Pakistan (May 2015, October 2016, and November 2024) the Prime Minister of Pakistan has paid two visits to Belarus (August 2015 and April 2025)? and the Prime Minister of Belarus has paid two visits to Pakistan (November 2015 and Jctober 2024). The President of the Republic of Belarus met with the Prime Ministers of Pakistan on the sidelines of multilateral summits in Beijing in 2017, Bishkek in 2019, Dushanbe in 2021, Samarkand and Astana in September and October 2022, and Astana in July 2024. Interparliamentary cooperation is ongoing. In 2017, the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan visited Belarus, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus visited Pakistan, and in August 2024, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan paud an official visit to Belarus.
Belarus and Pakistan are closely cooperating on the international arena in addressing pressing issues of the global and regional agenda.
Effective interaction in this direction is ensured by the functioning of a permanent mechanism of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries. Six rounds of political consultations took place between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Pakistan at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers (the sixth round took place in Islamabad on July 2024).
