Political consultations were held in Pakistan
02.07.2024On July 2, 2024, the sixth Belarusian-Pakistani political consultations at the level of deputy ministers were held in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Belarusian delegation was headed by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Lukashevich, while the Pakistani delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Shafqat Ali Khan.
During the political consultations, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of Belarusian-Pakistani cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian and other areas, as well as promising areas of further interaction.
Steps and opportunities to increase trade, including in industrial and agricultural products, were considered.
Mutual approaches and views on the modern world order, commitment to the principles of the UN Charter were noted. They agreed to continue the practice of mutual support in the international arena, including at the United Nations venues.
During the meeting between the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Lukashevich and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Muhammad Cyrus Sajjad Qazi, the parties confirmed the friendly nature of the Belarusian-Pakistani relations, and their focus on their further strengthening and development.
The Sides discussed the development and improvement of the bilateral legal framework, as well as the list of documents to be signed.
Against the backdrop of global challenges, the sides agreed to strengthen cooperation within the SCO framework. Sergey Lukashevich thanked the Pakistani Side for supporting Belarus' accession to the Organization as a full member state from July 4, 2024.
