On the meeting with the Federal Minister for Science and Technology of Pakistan

On January 20, 2020 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Andrei Ermolovich, met with the Federal Minister for Science and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Chaudhry Fawad Hussain.

The sides discussed the actual state of Belarusian-Pakistani cooperation in science and technology. An invitation from the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus to visit Minsk was extended to the Pakistani Minister to pay a working visit to Belarus in order to hold the fourth Session of Belarus-Pakistan Commission for Cooperation in Science and Technology.

The sides considered a list of joint Belarusian-Pakistani scientific and technological projects for realization and funding, selected on the results of the contest between the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in 2019.

The Pakistani Minister noted the interest of Islamabad in examine the best Belarusian practices and development of practical cooperation with Belarus in a number of areas. In particular, agricultural mechanization, Earth remote sensing, bio- and medical technologies, medical equipment, robotics, the creation of joint ventures in the territory of scientific and technical parks of Pakistan to promote joint products on the markets of the region.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain also expressed its interest in visiting Belarus High-Tech Park and the Great Stone Belarusian-Chinese Industrial Park to learn from the experience and find possible options for further cooperation with these institutions.

The sides agreed to hold the fourth Session of Belarus-Pakistan Commission for Cooperation in Science and Technology in Minsk in spring 2020.
